Very nice lecture by Radhanath Swami. Only Krishna can do multi tasking with perfection in every task.

well said.. nobody can imitate krishna.. he is supremely multitasking. In brahma samhita it is said that krishna is residing in his abode goloka vrindavan in the spiritual world, and at the same time he is present within the heart of every living entity and within each and every atom in this universe.

Rightly pointed out… Krishna is absolutely Swarat and hence no one can predict what He wants to do. Transcendentally, Krishna Himself does not understand His own potencies in one sense. However, He is aware about our side of things.

The pastimes of lifting of Govardhan is the epitome of multi tasking by Krishna. He was satisfying all the relations.

Yes. He was exchanging all five rasas with his pure devotees simultaneously. At the same time he was purifying his mixed devotee Indra. And at the same time he was enacting a lila which people, for their own purification, could hear and chant for all time to come. Any other things he was doing while he was lifting Govardhan hill?

Thank you for sharing such wonderful insights into Govardhan Leela. It is indeed very pleasing to hear these pastimes. Lord Krishna certainly attracts all of us to Him through these Leelas.

Especially in today’s age, people are attracted to multi tasking. So i loved the way Maharaj made his talk relevant by speaking about Krishna’s multi-tasking in such elaborate details. He went on and on and on….and then a touch of humor. Remember?

Yea, he brings it to the point, we chanting our japa while doing everything else in parallel, which is not actually recommended. That was really humorous.

            Yes, you got it right.

In attention lies the seed of love. When we chant the holy names of Krishna attentively, our dormant for for him naturally awakens.

Very true. Chanting cleanses the dirt from our heart like anything without our knowing how it does so.

Indeed. There is so much to learn from them that we can spend our whole life for those learnings.

Wonderful narration of the amazing multi tasking of Lord Krishna. HH Radhanath Swami so expertly presents this aspect in such a hilarious way but making this clear that our multi tasking abilities are very limited in comparison of Lord Krishna who is taking care of so many things simultaneously. Very inspiring.

“As we are appreciating the beauty of the sunset, we should understand that we are one day closer to death.”

What Radhanath Swami said may sound pessimistic, but it is realistic. If we have fairy notions of life in the material world, we are sure to be disappointed.

Therefore for living in the material world, the Vedas recommend the approach – ‘best use of a bad bargain’. A farmer had an old donkey. He decided to sell it. Because he loved the donkey, he saw only beauty in the animal. So he imagined his donkey would sell for a high price. Sure enough, at the market he faced disappointment.

Slowly he adjusted his consciousness. He started seeing the reality – that the donkey was after all a bad bargain. He brought down his expectations, and quoted a reasonable price. Best use of a bad bargain.

Soon, he found a customer, and the farmer happily returned to his home.

This is how we have to live in the material world. We have to bring down our expectations in life. We have to accept that living in the material world is a bad bargain. Miseries are bound to come. But yes, we can learn to adjust, we can learn bargaining.

So, we accept this world for what it is, and focus our entire attention upon entering the spiritual world.

Thank you very much for this practical advise that too with such an instructive story. Stories really make this so easy to relate to the topic and that is what HH Radhanath Swami does quite often.

Thanks for wonderful insights! Really liked the story that tells how to make best use of bad bargains in our lives. It is important to be realistic about life rather than having a rosy picture. Our day to day experiences surely validate the view Veda’s have about life.

            Ha ha thank you.

Sugriva’s knowledge of geography came handy when the monkeys were trying to locate sita . When did Sugriva gain that knowledge? When he was running from his brother.

Wait a minute…… why did I remember this story?!

Yes prabhu, Sugriva learned about places in the universe when he fleeing of from his brother’s anger. Lord Ram got surprised when Sugriva started giving directions to his team and where all they should visit.

Very true. I keep following Radhanath Swami for various lectures that he keeps delivering at various forums. I have heard about his new bestseller “Journey Within” which I believe is getting lot of attention from media and various spiritual organizations. We are very fortunate to have spiritual leaders and thinkers like him in this age, who not only speak but also act and inspire others to follow him. There is a famous verse in Bhagavad Gita “Yad yad acharati Shreshthas, tat tat avetaro janah…” and it applies to him perfectly.

Thank you very much for initiating this discussion Piyush.

Lord Krishna is unlimited and so are His potencies which work under His direction (Mamaivamso Jeevaloke…). It is impossible to understand Krishna. The more one tries to do it, the more he gets bewildered. One such example is Lord Brahma who tried to do this and ultimately he had to surrender to the Lotus feet of Lord Krishna.

Thank you very much Radhanath Swami for this wonderful lecture.

In the Jewish scripture the dearest thing to Abraham in his life was his son Isaac. When God told him to sacrifice Isaac, there was nothing worse he could have possibly done but he was willing to do it if that was the will of God and when he was about to perform the act then God spoke and said, “You passed the test, it’s alright. Isaac is very nice, just let him be,” and that was the covenant between God and the Jewish people. Similarly, Lord Jesus…he said if you love anyone more than you love God then you are not really a devotee of God. He said you cannot love God and man simultaneously…the treasures of this world, he said, will be eaten by moths, rusted, corroded by rust and stolen by thieves. Make your treasure in the Kingdom of God because there it will be permanent. There is no rust, moths or thieves.

God’s name is the most powerful medicine. Why? Because the Lord has incarnated within the name. The power, the opulence and the beauty and the sweetness of the Lord are within the name

Nicely summarized Jerry. Sometime it is said that Lord’s Holyname is more potent than He Himself. It can deliver even those who were rejected by the Lord. Thank you very much Radhanath Swami for this wonderful lecture.
